.....also known as Bluebills...Lucky to get these shots ....they always fly away ....happened upon these Lesser Scaups on a cold wet dreary day ....they were a bit too far from shore .....I of course thought i had found a new species ....however these are the most common diving ducks in North America ....although it must be pointed out their numbers have dropped drastically from 6 million to less than 3 million.
