Behind The Lens

Location

This was shot between 6th and 7th Avenues in Eugene, OR. and it was actually mid-end of Summertime instead of Winter.

Time

Late-afternoon or early-evening.

Lighting

The bush was situated on the Western side of a hotel bldg and was catching full sunlight since the sun was heading for the horizon. It wasnt quite yet golden hour.

Equipment

Im pretty sure it was my Samsung Galaxy A50; if not, then it was the A02s I have now.

Inspiration

I took this photo with the intention of enhancing the red color of the perfectly ripe berries.

Editing

Yes, I found a photography editing app called, Color Pop. That was how I was able to make the photo B and W while leaving the berries their phenomenal red color.

In my camera bag

Always: My cellphone Occasionally: My tripod

Feedback

Generally, dont be afraid to edit and experiment. You can always try again if not satisfied; but, be sure to save your original photo. For shots similar to this one, try to look for subjects with strong contrasts; whether they be color, texture, or ??.. then use post editing tools or applications to enhance one thing only... unique textures, bright colors, a single item, etc... You will be amazed by your results!
