Behind The Lens

Location

I captured this beauty in my neighborhood down the street from my current home while walking home from a local convenience store in Veneta, Oregon.

Time

It was nearly dusk; but, still light enough to show the gorgeous lavender color.

Lighting

It had rained heavily shortly before my walk; however the clouds were breaking up, so there was a pretty blue-ish cast over everything.

Equipment

My cellphone camera, currently I own a Samsung Galaxy A02s

Inspiration

The size and color of the rose, plus the opportunity to practice getting water droplets on flower petals like one sees in breathtaking fantasy scenes or magazines.

Editing

I did use the editing tools to sharpen the water droplets and petal edges on this shot; but, the color and everything else is as I shot it.

In my camera bag

My cellphone is a Must-Have.

Feedback

Be patient with yourself. Take a lot of shots of the same thing, using the same angle, etc.. then you can choose the best of them later. Remember it's okay to be imperfect and if you dont like the shot you can always delete it and try again, in the digital arena.
