Location
We have this duck pond or small lake near the court. There are always plenty of ducks and one of them is a white duck which is relatively unusual for Germany or at least my town I would say.Time
It was in the afternoon but not sunset or any specific light conditions, yet.Lighting
It was just natural sunlight on the pond but thanks to the white feathers I think the subject is sticking out quite well.Equipment
I used my Tamron zoom lens (55-200mm) which helped me to zoom in on the subject.Inspiration
I found the white duck very exceptional and every time I passed, I felt that I want to capture it in a picture. One day I finally brought my camera and saw it swimming peacefully so I grasped the chance.Editing
Other than the usual editing (add contrast, sharpness and detail) I also used the glow filter as to make the background darker and the contrast higher. I also wanted to give it a more romantic touch as the duck looked a bit like it was dreamily smiling while swimming.In my camera bag
I only have two lenses for the time being and two filters (UV and grey), an exchange battery, battery charger and several SD cards.Feedback
As always I’d say that if you see something exceptional don’t forget to bring your camera or try to come back for it another time if you’re sure that it’ll still be there.
