....i was lucky to get this shot, far off in the distance i noticed a bison that looked like it had a stick or something on the side of its head ....it was very hot out and so i assumed my eyes were playing tricks on me ....but i kept my eye on it ...and it surprisingly made its way closer ....it was still a ways away and the heat plays havoc on trying to capture images at distance... kind of like when you see heat rising off a highway ....actually you can just make out the heat towards the top of the photograph ....they are in rut and he was bellowing like crazy to establish dominance and as a matter of fact he is bellowing here in this shot...so yeah, um back to the ornate horn adornment ....i've witnessed deer that do this in rut call me crazy ...but here is proof ...and let me tell you he knew he had those flowers locked in his horns and he was strutting it.
