Behind The Lens

Location

I actually took this shot at a local nursery.

Time

I took this shot

Lighting

It was a very cloudy morning the day that I took this shot, which allowed me to capture the brilliant color of the flower.

Equipment

This photo was shot with my Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max. The camera is set to Ultra Wide which allows you to shoot in macro (26mm f1.5). I did not use a tripod, however I was able to stabilize the camera with my arms by leaning on the wall above the flower bed.

Inspiration

When it comes to flower photo’s, I always look for the most brilliant of colors to shoot.

Editing

I did perform some post-processing. I enhanced the color, as well as the clarity. In addition, I cropped the photo so that the total focus of the photo is totally on the flower.

In my camera bag

I pack the following in my camera backpack before photo shoots. 1. My Sony Alpha 6100 Mirrorless Camera. 2. I pack the following lenses; E PZ 16-50 for portraits, the E 55-210mm for landscaping, and my FE 85mm f/1.8 Telephoto Prime Lens for high quality portraits without getting too close to your subject. 3. I also bring my iPhone 13 pro max iphone, being that it takes great macro shots. 4. I also pack Lens cleaning wipes, microfiber cloth, tripod, at least a couple of memory cards, multitool, batteries, and flashlight.

Feedback

The best time of day for photographing flowers is early morning or late afternoon, where the light will be warmer and less harsh then it gets later in the day.
