USA California Santa Monica 2022: A summer day in the city of Santa Monica in Southern California. The cool breeze is refreshing in the 80 degree climate. The crowded park is full of action. I thought of Claude Monet's paintings with impressions of the moment documenting yet not intruding on humanity. This is an impression of " Palisades Park "in Santa Monica. The park is popular for it's location next to a popular shopping area with views of the ocean. I took time to have elements of perspective having linear perspective and light . I wanted the forward dark and the photo get the lighter to bring the eye into the frame.. I slowly walked to find the correct location. Linear perspective is strong in the photo illustrated by the street lights and the lines of the walking path.. I loved the 1930 original street light that help the perspective of the photo because the lights lead the viewer into the frame and the lines of the walking path that also guides ones eye back into the photo. The foreground is dark in the photo but as the viewer looks at the path it gets lighter moving the viewer down the path seeing different details. Lastly I engaged to element of photography framing and grounding my shot. I wanted the walkway to be highlighted so I moved the camera to have the walkway framed between the trees and the street lights finding dense dark trees and the street lights well light. I grounded my photo by focusing on the American flag halfway down the path this helped make an exposure that creates perspective. Another element I like is how the blues and green colors make a calm mood in the photo illustrating the peaceful park.
