Location
A good friend of mine from high school asked me to photograph his two sons playing in the Texas State Championship lacrosse game in Austin, Texas.Time
This photo was taken mid afternoon.Lighting
This photo was an accident, or an opportunity. When they awarded the trophy to the team I had my 300mm f 2.8 lens on my camera and was too close to the team to get the faces of the players. As I leaned back with my camera this photo appeared in my viewfinder. I shot several shots of the players hoisting the trophy.Equipment
Canon camera with a Canon 300mm f2.8 lens on a monopod.Inspiration
I was trying to capture the excitement of the players who had just won the state championship in Texas. This photo was an accident, or an opportunity. When they awarded the trophy to the team I had my 300mm f 2.8 lens on my camera and was too close to the team to get the faces of the players. As I leaned back with my camera this photo appeared in my viewfinder. I shot several shots of the players hoisting the trophy.Editing
I sharpened the photo and made slight adjustments to the exposure. For this version of the photo I applied an HD filter in photoshop camera raw.In my camera bag
If I am shooting outside sports I usually have my Canon 300mm 2.8 lens. I like to carry a 28 - 70 mm lens to help get group shots at the end of a contest.Feedback
