Location
This photo was taken in my home town of Vernon, British Columbia. It was taken at a high school rugby game that I was photographing. This young mother was also taking photos of the rugby match.Time
The photo was taken late in the afternoon, at approximately 4:00pm. The rugby pitch was surrounded by trees, which helped provide a nice uncluttered backdrop for the photo.Lighting
It was an overcast day, which helped reduce the shadows.Equipment
This was shot with my Canon 70D. I was using a Canon 300 mm, f 2.8 lens on a monopod.Inspiration
I was taking photos of the rugby game and noticed this young woman with her son on her back. I liked the look of intensity on her face as well as the expressions on her son's face.Editing
I usually sharpen my photos and add some contrast as well. With this one I also applied a filter in photoshop to enhance the image.In my camera bag
I usually shoot with the Canon 300 2.8 lens or a 70 - 200 Canon 2.8 lens.Feedback
Always be on the look out for what is going on around you. I was out shooting a rugby match and happened to see this young woman. I don't believe any of my photos of the match were as appealing as this photo was.
