In June 2021, I spent a few days down in Rockport, Texas. Discovered this little park that serves as a breeding and nesting area (aka rookery) for a variety of shore birds. On this day I saw mostly great blue herons and great egrets but a few cattle egrets and white ibis were present as well. A few birds appeared to be sitting on nest already, but the great egrets and great blue herons were in full courtship mode. It was one of those days where the sky was hazy and overcast in one direction and beautiful blue in the other. This great egret was showing off - the great blue herons were not impressed.
