How are vampires and photographers alike? They both don't like midday light and, I am no different. When I find myself in harsh lighting conditions, I hesitate to pick up the camera and get trapped in a mindset that any photo I take will be bad because of the light. (I know I am not the only one who thinks this). Had it not been for the harsh light of the day, this photo wouldn't have had so much contrast, and it's the contrast that makes this photo come to life. Aside from the obvious contrast between light and shadow, there is a contrast of the elements--water and earth, sky and earth, light and dark, and horizontal and vertical.
