Photo I took on a country road in the outback of the central valley of California. My wife and I were returning from a photo expedition in the Madera Wildlife Refuge to which we had to travel several roads like this, some nearly impassible, and others seemingly leading nowhere. We topped a small hill and witnessed this dramatic vista. She said "stop and take a picture," which I did, hoping that another car wouldn't come up behind and smash into us. What we will do for an opportunity for capturing a vivid and memorable image!
