Location
This is taken in a train station between Bridlington and London England. I had spent a three day weekend on the North Sea photographing everything I could.Time
This is taken between four and six in the afternoon while i was waiting to change trains. I began to notice how beautiful the architecture is when a train pulled into the tunnel and stopped. Right place, right time.Lighting
The lighting was mostly natural light. There are some incandescent lights from the train station but a lot of light came through the tunnel and the windows in the ceiling. Basically I walked around until the shadows were where I wanted them and I stopped.Equipment
I used a Nikon d610 and a Nikkor 28-300 lens. I did not have a flash or a tripod. I used the edge of a bannister to steady the camera. I do not recommend this method, at all.Inspiration
My inspiration is the location I was in. The architecture and the train are inspiring enough. But coming off a three day weekend devoted to shooting, I was in some kind of zone.Editing
I did a little post on this foto. First I created an HDR file. Which is why it looks a little animated. Then I took it into photoshop and dodged and burned it, added some curves and a little saturation. No other filters.In my camera bag
I carry a Nikon d850, Nikon 105mm micro, Nikkor 28-300mm, Nikon 60mm micro, Nikon 50mm and a Nikon 24-120mm. I also have Tiffen Neutral density filters, five other colored filters, a Nikon SB-900 Speedlite and a Benro Mach 3 Tripod.Feedback
I think it really depends on where you are located. This is difficult for me to give advice on. This picture was such a product of happenstance. I would recommend to anyone that loves to take fotos to always have your camera with you. I would also say to be patient. I believe a foto will present itself once your mind is calm. Which for me, is seldom.
