Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in Agua Dolce, CA in an area called Vasquez Rocks. The story is a bandito, Vasquez, hid from the law and everyone in this rock formation in the hills for a long time. Many films and TV shows have been filmed here. From Hail Caesar (2016) to Ten Commandments ( 1956 ) plus, plus, plus.

Time

I don’t really remember but, judging by the light I would say are 5-630pm.

Lighting

The sun was beautiful, the sunset light was beautiful, the area is beautiful. All it took for me to take this photo was set up the perspective and push the button.

Equipment

The camera i used was a Nikon d850 with a Nikorr 28-300mm sitting on top of a Benro tripod. No flash, just gorgeous sunshine.

Inspiration

What inspired me was the area. The views of boulders and sun was inspiring enough but, I also went with a friend so, getting a better foto than him was very inspiring.

Editing

Not much post on this one. Cropping, a little saturation and curves.

In my camera bag

Normally I carry my Nikon d850, Nikkor 105 macro, 28-300mm, 50mm and a 24-120mm, a Nikon MC-36a external trigger and a Nikon SB-900 speedlite.

Feedback

My advice is to anyone is to shoot… lot of shots…. from different points of view.
