A friend sent me a personalised mug and so I took a photo of it and sent that with my thanks. I also 'staged' the picture by placing the mug amid my writing and paintings to make it more personally from me. As this was a more 'practical' than 'artistic' shot, with a defined purpose it is easy to recognise the thought behind the compositional choices, but all images have a story to tell and all stories benefit from careful choices and organisation.
