Wildlife Action photography. 'Nutkin', is an action study of a British Red Squirrel , a species on the endangered list which has found refuge and began to breed colonies on the Isle of Anglesey, off the north wales mainland in the UK, because of the hard work and dedication of wildlife groups of which i am proud to be part of. This image is a part of a project I am creating called , "What's in the Trees", a collection of wildlife photographs taken looking up into the trees whilst I am out doing work or surveys and relying on basic equipment and natural light and settings. None of the images I am taking for this project involve long waits in a hide or with a tripod , and no editing. The purpose of choosing to do this is in order to use the images as encouragement for new young photographers to show them what can be achieved without any specialist equipment or lightroom changes , and give them a collection of natural state images to compare their first efforts to, as well as showing them what types of wildlife they could spot and photograph whilst walking in beauty spots on our island. I used the only camera i can carry during my Wildlife Trust duties , my Canon sx730hs , and using as much telephoto zoom as clarity would allow with manual settings on continuous shooting this was taken from a standing position , handheld well below the action with very low POV. The squirrel was actually far above me , probably about 15-20 metres up in very low shady light and i was lucky to see it as this shot was taken in natural surroundings and not in the feeding area where they are more commonly seen.
