This flashy male showed up in my yard one day. And only for one day. Similar to the hooded orioles that are regulars in my yard, this species is a deeper orange color, has a black eye band and small black bib on the chin-neck and a black cap. Also has a wide white band on the wings. I know that our area is within the range for this species but this is only the 2nd time I have seen any on my property. I was excited to see it and hoped it would reappear. So far, it has not.
