This photo was taken from my backyard in Northern UT after a rain. I love photographing seeding dandelions. The middle of the the bare middle reminds me a bit of the texture of a golf ball. They are fascinating to examine close up. Each one is unique.Time
I am not 100 percent certain the time of day it was when this photo was taken, but I believe it was in the afternoon.Lighting
When shooting macro without a ring light or flash, you need to make sure you have bright lighting.Equipment
Canon 5D Mark III with a 100mm f2.8 macro lensInspiration
I looked outside after the rain and the dandelions looked very different due to the rain and I thought it looked really interesting, so I decided to capture a few with my camera.Editing
I don't recall doing any post processing with this photo, but I am not 100 percent. I do very little post processing. In my camera bag
Canon 5D Mark III, 100mm macro f2.8 lens, 24-70mm tamron zoom lens f2.8, canon 70-200 mm f2.8 lens, Canon 50 mm f1.4 lens, 200 mm canon f2.8 fixed lens, polarizing filter, extra batteries, etc.Feedback
You need good light to capture macro shots without flash. When shooting macro, the depth of field will be greatly reduced, so it is a good idea to shoot with the highest ISO your circumstances will allow. If there is any movement, it will easily push your subject out of focus, so watch for it.
