Location
This photo was taken at Hoh Rainforest, within Olympic National Park in Western Washington state in the Pacific Northwest.Time
It was in the morning around 8 a.m.Lighting
It was mostly overcast with short periods of bright sun.Equipment
I used Canon EOS 70D, Canon 15-85 mm. @ 15.0 mm, Aperture f/4.5, ISO 200, Shutter 1/30, Tripod.Inspiration
The Hoh Rainforest, with its lush, green canopy of trees covered with mosses and lichens, looks like an image before time. Wandering through this forest is a unique experience. Some of the trees are over 1000 years old.Editing
Shot RAW. I adjusted the light/contrast, sharpened. I enhanced the flares. In my camera bag
I use only Canon equipment. Now I use EOS70D, EOS80D. 3 zoom lenses. 100-400mm. 28-135 mm. 18-55mm. Manfrotto tripod. Manfrotto Backpack 50. B+H ND Filter 8x.Feedback
For a forest like this with so many dark areas combined with bright areas, it’s better to photograph when there's not too much contrast. Use a tripod with a high f-stop and bracket it.
