This is the second Steel Bridge in Downtown Portland, Oregon, which opened in 1912, and replaced the first Steel Bridge built in 1888. The original bridge in this location was a wooden bridge, which is how the bridge got its name. Tom McCall Waterfront Park, and the annual blossoming of the Cherry Trees, a gift from Japan in 1990, to honor those Japanese Americans placed in concentration camps during World War 2, are blooming beautifully and abundantly this season, letting us know that there is still much beauty in the world. Photo taken on Saturday the 27th of March in 2021.
