Location
The Tlikum Crossing Bridge, over the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon, only allows pedestrians, bicycles, buses, and light rail, no automobiles.Time
This photo was taken around 7:00PM on the 18th of April in 2018. I was out on a photo shoot with a friend, in Downtown Portland, Oregon, on a day when we had a few showers, so there were some nice clouds in the sky. I liked the light bridge against the dark clouds.Lighting
This was very late in the afternoon, around 7:00PM, so the shadows are very long, and the sunlight is hitting the bridge almost straight on from the Southwest, rather dramatically lighting up the white of the bridge, against the dark sky and water.Equipment
Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II with my 40-150mm zoom M.Zuiko Pro lens at 48mm and f14.Inspiration
I just liked the light against the dark and the straight lines of the man made structure against the natural shapes made by Mother Nature.Editing
Using the Olympus Viewer 3 software provided from the camera manufacturer, I converted the color photo to Black and White, then applied a Red filter to the photo, and kicked up the contrast just a little bit.In my camera bag
My over the shoulder sling bag holds an 8mm f1.8 Fisheye M.Zuiko Pro lens, a 7-14mm f2.8 Zoom M.Zuiko Pro lens,, 12-40mm f2.8 Zoom M.Zuiko Pro lens, a 40-150mm f2.0 Telephoto Zoom M.Zuiko Pro lens, and a 60mm M.Zuiko ESC Macro lens. There is no room in the bag for the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II camera, so it is carried on the camera strap over my shoulder or wrapped around my wrist.Feedback
I love walking along the Willamette River in the evening looking for great shots at all times of the year, you never know what you'll find.
