Location
I took this picture in Paris, there are several covered galleries, all over the city, with small shops and restaurants, this one was on Grand Boulevards.Time
My model Sofiya and I were walking in the city during the whole afternoon, so it was in between noon and 5pm that we stopped in this place to take a picture.Lighting
The blue background that you can see on the picture is actually the reflect in the mirror and the yellowish light on her face is coming from one of the lamps inside of the galleries, I though the contrast looked really cinematic.Equipment
I used Nikon D800 and 50mm lens to capture Sofiya.Inspiration
My inspiration was 100% my model, it was the first time we've ever met, she was in Paris for a couple of days and I used to live in the city. A friend of mine, also a photographer, messaged me saying that Sofiya was in Paris by herself and that he thinks we definitively should work together, so I took my camera messaged her and 30 minutes later we were walking, talking and taking pictures. I was just searching for a particular mysterious ambience that suited my model very well and once we walked into the galleries I realized it was perfect.Editing
I used curves in Photoshop to intensify the color.In my camera bag

I think if you have a good connection with your model, you feel comfortable around one another and you have some spare time it is super cool to just explore together different places. Don't necessarily choose a spot in advance, just meet somewhere and walk and look until you see something that inspires you ! At some point your eye will catch an interesting light or place and the magic will happen. I also ask my models to look anywhere apart into the camera so sometimes they just get lost in their thoughts and it is exactly what happened with Sofiya here.
