Behind The Lens

Location

I took this picture in Paris ; between Trocadero and the Eiffel Tower there is this beautiful carousel I always wanted to shoot at.

Time

It was during a warm Summer day, sometime in the second half of a day, when the light is not that harsh anymore.

Lighting

The lighting is completely natural, I almost never work with fake lights, I really love what nature has to offer !

Equipment

I used Nikon D800 for this shoot with 50mm lens.

Inspiration

I really love Paris, there are so many cinematic places, like this carousel for instance. It feels like you are living in a movie when you walk on the streets. My model, Vitali Bara, was in Paris for few days, so I decided to show her the city through my eyes and capture her in my favorite spots.

Editing

I use Photoshop to edit my pictures, I prefer to edit as little as possible but I usually play with curves and colors in post production.

In my camera bag

I'm very minimalistic so I normally have only my old Nikon D800 camera and 50mm lens.

Feedback

I think my advice would be to go to places that inspire you and take pictures from different angles and at different moments of the day, the result is always very different depending on the lightning. Also try to have fun, we did many rounds of the carousel in order to get one perfect picture but we both enjoyed it a lot !
