Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at home on my back patio during the COVID lockdown.

Time

I took this at around 9 am from memory.

Lighting

The light is natural from the sun.

Equipment

I used a Minolta Hi-Matic 7sii loaded with Ilford HP5+ and I developed it in Rodinal.

Inspiration

I needed to finish off a roll of film so I was taking random photos around the house.

Editing

The film was devoloped in Rodinal the "scanned" with my Nikon D750 with my Sigma 105mm macro lens.

In my camera bag

It depends on what I am taking photos of, If I am doing some street photography I often just have a camera and a couple of rolls of film in my pocket. My X100F and a Rode Video Mic if I am making a vlog, sometimes I have a film camera as well, sometimes I have my DJI Mini 2. If I am shooting for a client I will have much more gear with me, a Nikon D750, Sigma 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, 105mm Macro along with a couple of speedlights, stands, softboxes.

Feedback

Take photos in different light, at different times of the day, watch how shadows can form part of the story, and help inform the viewer. Play with light and most of all have fun!
