Back in the fall, I bought myself some flowers and decided to create an image of myself that felt like Autumn to me. When I finished, I realized I really loved it. Not just the way the art looks, but I love the way I look. This image makes me feel beautiful, which is a really powerful feeling, and not one I used to often be able to conjure.
Self-portraiture has been a healing experience and has helped me transform my relationship with myself in ways I never really expected. As much as I miss photographing other human beings, I’m grateful to have been forced into this relationship with myself and my art.
