What is one of your places that you like to explore but is sometimes inaccessible? For me, this canyon is one of them. For the last 3 years, I’ve been trying to get back into this canyon, but the high water levels of this area have flooded the canyon and made it beyond reach. I’ve gone in with wave runners only to find that my favorite sections under water. ⁣

FINALLY, I was able to spend a couple hours watching the light and shadows change as the sun moved in the sky. It was peaceful and breathtaking.⁣
⁣
However, as I hiked through the canyon my heart broke and my stomach sunk as I saw human caused destruction carved into the beautiful walls. The etched names and dates of visitors who don’t respect the outdoors and people that think their egos and self promotion are more important than preservation. If you ever see anyone vandalizing natural wonders, please do your part to educate and speak out about this unacceptable behavior. ⁣
