Captured last early Fall. Not enough attention is given to the serious plight of the vanishing Monarchs. A 2017 Washington State University Study predicted that Monarchs would likely disappear in 10 to 20 years if they dropped below 30 thousand and nothing is done to save them.
SADLY, on Dec 15th 2020 the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service listed them as endangered but not action will be taken for few years due to higher priority listings.
In December 2020 the count was below 2 thousand. PEOPLE can help by planting the appropriate type of milkweed and making this concern known more widely. PLEASE talk about this with others. BUY milkweed plants....ask local agencies or governments or local facilities that can to help in preserving them. MAKE IT KNOWN the crisis.
