This is a Martial Eagle (Polemäetus bellicosus), the largest african eagle, photographed in South Africa at a center for wounded raptors rehabilitation. Its genus scientific name means literally "War Eagle" or "Battle Eagle" because of its strength and aggressiveness. This beautiful eagle is capable of catching and killing preys that are much bigger and heavier than itself.
