I took this photo at Sossusvlei, Namibia, on a trip that I made with my wife during our stay in South Africa.Time
My wife and me woke up before dawn to see the sunrise on the huge sand dunes of Sossusvlei. We packed quickly our tent and belongings, and rushed with our car to take a walk to the vleis (salt pans), about 40 kms from the campground. It is an easy walk in the desert but needs to be taken early in the morning, because in the summer the temperature rises over 40 C in a few hours. On our way back to the campground, we saw these two guys hiking on one of the dunes. I stopped the car and shot some pictures, as it was about 10:30 and very hot, so quite unusual to see hikers in the desert at that time. I am not sure they enjoyed the hike!Lighting

Well, I was just inspired by the fact that it was so strange to see two guys hiking the sand dune under the sun with more than 40 C!Editing
I usually do quite a lot of postprocessing, but not in this case. I had to clone an unwanted reflection in the lower right corner, probably due to too much light at that time of the day, and I saturated a bit the sky.In my camera bag

Namibia and South Africa offer thousands of fantastic spots for landscape photographers. Few are known by the average tourists or travellers, but even in quite popular tourist destinations like Sossusvlei it is possible to find something new. Never stop to look around for that!
