Your car key is whole now... Good work! I had another problem once, dropped the keys into the sea by stupid mistake... Now I always have a spare car door key somewhere accessible on the outside of the car, and the engine starting key somewhere inside (the keyword is "somewhere").
On one of my cars I got rid of the engine key altogether, and installed a row of 4 x 3 switches. The final press button worked only when the correct octal code was set on the switches - any wrong combination activated the siren.
But I'm too lazy to repeat that nowadays...
