Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in Zug, a famous small town in Switzerland.

Time

The photo was made on 2020 August the 830h at about 16:20.

Lighting

The only source of light was natural light. It was a cold and very rainy summer day so there was not to many light but exactly that's what I needed for a rain pics like this.

Equipment

For this shot I used my Nikon Z6 in combination with the superb Nikkor Z 85mm f1.8 S Lens.

Inspiration

We wanted to take a few sexy in- and outdoor photos. But due to the weather at this day we made some rain photos. One of them was this shoot from a public terrace.

Editing

Always more or less! After selecting the photos to edit, I choose the color look (here it was essential for the look of the picture) for each set, then I correct, if necessary, the light of the picture. Then the picture is cropped if necessary and that's it.

In my camera bag

For portrait shootings I usually use my full format Camera with a set of (relatively) fast primes: A 50mm, a 85mm, the magnificent Sigma 24-35mm f2.0 Art Zoom and sometimes the 70-200mm f2.8.

Feedback

With a good idea and a relaxed model in a good mood you have nearly everything you need. Then find your location matching the picture idea and watch the light during the shoot. A camera with manual control (but don't forget: the best camera is the one you have with you) and then go for it. And yes, don't forget to do some the post-processing ;-)
