Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken by a nature trail in Ottawa, Canada.

Time

10 am

Lighting

The mushroom was away from direct sunlight and was in the shades. So I used a higher ISO. 400.

Equipment

Nikon D850, Nikor 24-85 f/3.5-4.5 @85mm, Circular polariser

Inspiration

The mushroom was fresh and relatively large, un-disturbed texture and white color. Lighting was perfect as it was already filtered and reflected from near by trees and autumn leaves (yellows and reds).

Editing

Camera Raw to convert from RAW image. Tonal optimisation and BW conversion on Photoshop.

In my camera bag

camera, Cpl, uv filter, lens cleaning brushes.

Feedback

The exciting thing about Nature is full of surprises, just slow down and look around you will never be disappointed. Patience plays a key part. Know your camera and lens, don't be to shy experiment. We are so fortunate to have digital camera where one can immediately review the product!. I normally the histogram on the photo replay on camera.
