This grizzly had taken down this bull elk several hours before we saw it. When we arrived he was just starting to dig into the bank and bury it to hide it from other predators. He remained on this elk for several days feeding and fending off other predators. The story as we heard it was that this bull elk had been in a fierce fight with another bull elk but was injured and lost. The bear saw the opportunity and nature happened.
