Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken from Mount Cabuyao, Tuba, Benguet, Philippines. The lightning flashed over Baguio City.

Time

It was photographer early evening after photographing Comet Neowise.

Lighting

It is hard to go out during the pandemic and this was one of the opportunities to go out and capture uncommon moments such as lightning.

Equipment

This was taken using Fujifilm X-Pro2 with Fujinon XF 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 WR OIS lens.

Inspiration

I was taking photographs of the comet neowise when the weather changed over the city. l hardly go out and after seeing the lightning, it reminded me of the challenge in photographing lightnings so I decided to the lightning.

Editing

I used photoshop and enhanced the contrast and applied noise reduction.

In my camera bag

I normally have 2 lenses (Fujinon XF 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 WR OIS and Samyang 12mm f/2) and a camera body (Fujifilm X-Pro2).

Feedback

Photographing lightnings is a challenge and will test your patience. Timing is key to capturing awesome lightning strikes and you need to anticipate the interval of next lightning. It's easier if the the interval of the lightning is short.
