Quiet Winter

QUIET WINTER

I don't want to be bold, loud or not someone who I am not in my photography. A recent break from social media has given me the chance to understand why I am a landscape photographer and what it means to me as an artist.

As a child rather than playing football or riding bikes with other kids I would sometimes spend the whole day fishing off the local pier. Sometimes I would catch nothing, but spending the day watching the water, the noise of the creaking wooden pier beneath me, the wildlife, and the changing light, gave me a sense of being in the quiet life.

This image was taken in the Orcia Valley in Tuscany with my good friend Ed Rhodes on a quiet winters morning last December. I tried to express that sense of being in this image workflow.
