The Faraglioni are rock formations similar to stacks their name derives from the Greek word «pharos» which in Italian means lighthouse. In old times they were used as lighthouses with fires lighted on their tops to guide and prevent ships sailing closed to the Island of Capri in Italy. These stacks are actually four and each one has a different name: Saetta, Stella Maris, Scopolo and Monacone. This last is the lowest and sometimes confused with just a rock, but it is really a stack like the others only that lower. Many stories are behind these formations, for now, I will tell you that they are also where the Blue Lizzard (Podarcis sicula coerulea) lives. This lizard is special because through its color it camouflages itself between the sky and the sea.
