I took this photo in the City of Granada in Spain.Time
My wife and I were walking on a street in Granada, Spain, in the afternoon, it was a bright sunny day without clouds and suddenly this little cat came from the garden were it was probably hiding or playing with its siblings. It only seemed to be some days or weeks old. First it looked at us scared and then us we stopped to see it and started to say how cute it was it become more quiet and probably confident, at that moment I took the photo.Lighting
It was a bright sunny afternoon. The place where this cat was, however, in the shade of a close wall, so the lighting was just a reflection of the sun.Equipment
I used my Canon 7D with the 28-135 mm 1:3.5-5.6 EF IS zoom lens. Neither tripod nor flash were used for this photo.Inspiration
The eyes of the cat inspired me to take the photo. Their color and, specially, the expression, a mix of scare and confidence. Probably this guy had not seen a lot of people in the days from its birth.Editing
I did not do any post processing on this photo. When I found later that the photo was exactly what I was looking, I decided to leave as it was.In my camera bag
I have a Canon 7D that is soon be 10 years old. I have the lens that was used for this photo the 28-135 mm 1:3.5-5.6 EF IS lens, I also have in my bag a 18-55 mm 1:3.5-5.6 IS II lens and a 55-250 mm 1:4-5.6 IS EF-S., Canon Remote Control, extra batteries, CF cards, extension tubes and an adapter for the 28-135 mm lens to invert it and use it as a macro lens that I am still trying to dominate. I have several tripods, one monopod and many filters. Recently my wife bought a Canon 5D MK IV for me, what a camera! In my opinion the best I have ever had, but I am still trying to get used to it. It came with a zoom lens 24-105 mm 1:4 L IS II USM, a fantastic piece of equipment. I love it. I am definitely a Canon fan.Feedback
This photo is a clear example of the photos I take most of the time. It was captured while I was walking in a city. Other times it can be trekking in a national park, staying in a beach, participating of an event, a sport game or wherever I am. Normally I am not planning the capture, I take a photo of what I find interesting, it may be a street, a person, a landscape or an animal as in this case, I have not plans but I am prepared, before I start taking photos, usually I have preset the speed, the aperture or I have pre-focused the exposure, and then I looked for the captures. That is my style. Is it the correct one? I do not know, but I like it. Try it, may be yours too.
