Location
I took this photograph at the Sharon MBTA commuter rail passenger station located in Sharon Massachusetts.Time
I took this photograph between 9:30 and 10:30pm.Lighting
I used the natural lighting of the area, mostly high pressure sodium vapor street lamps and flood lights (the orange glow) and a few mercury vapor flood lights (greenish-blue glow),Equipment
I used just a basic tripod, manual Pentax 35mm film camera with a cable release.Inspiration
I was trying to hone my night photography skills with Kodachrome slide film.Editing
No, it's just regular slide film processing at the time I took the photograph and scanning the slide into the current digital format. In my camera bag
Since this photograph was take I have since upgraded from film to digital. At the time it was a Pentax 35mm SLR with a zoom lens, I don't remember the specs. Since that time I up graded to an Olympus E-volt E500, then to an E510 with a 14-42mm and a 40-150mm lens, tripod, remote control and cable release.Feedback
Take your time, plan your shot. Scope out the lighting. Depending on what you're going for, try to keep any light from shining into the lens. It will create a hot spot and depending on your exposure the light could over expose your photograph. With the older style of light sources of sodium vapor, mercury vapor and metal halide lighting fixtures you could shine a bright light into the photocell and get the light to go out light it was daytime. After which you had about 15 minutes to get your shot before the light would come back on. But now with the new LED street lamps the lights will turn back on instantly.
