Location
The Conway Scenic Railroad in North Conway, NH.Time
This photograph was take around 4:30pm in the afternoon.Lighting
It was more of less a partly cloudy day, with some lower afternoon light coming from the right.Equipment
I was using my Olympus EVolt E-500 with my Zuiko 14-40mmInspiration
It was the end of the day, when the Valley train returned with the 7470 leading. Since is was the end of the day, the railroad was going to put the steam locomotive 7470 away for the night. I was on the correct side of the train to capture the best lighting for the time of day.Editing
Some light post processing enhancements were done. Some basic adjustments to the brightness, contrast, shadows and highlights. In my camera bag
In my bag at this time I had my EVolt E-500 with Zuiko 14mm-40mm, Zuiko 40-150mm, IR remote control and a basic tripod.Feedback
To capture shots like is this for one to learn the schedule of the railroad that you want to shoot, scope out safe places to view the area you would like to capture. As well be aware that some railroad employees may be reluctant to have there photo taken, such as a major railroad don't want added hassle of their photo being taken. But on a scenic railroad such as the Conway Scenic Railroad welcomes photographers, just keep to areas that are safe from being in the way of moving trains.
