Large bull elk photographed in Yellowstone National Park in June of 2020Time
It was late afternoon as we had spent the day in the park and were heading home. This handsome male was grazing by himself and really struck up a pretty nice pose. Animals are such fun to shoot cause you never know what they will do.Lighting
A very clear and warm sunny day all I needed to do was get into position and let nature do the rest. No filters or special equipmentEquipment
Canon Rebel T6s with a 150-6--mm tamron lens hand held at 483mmInspiration
I never go on any out of town trips without my camera and I am always on the lookout for any type of wildlife to photograph. You cannot set out and look for that one great shot but if you happen to be in the right place and camera ready there are always things going on when you are out and away from the city.Editing
I try and only do a little level adjust just to bring the photo as close as I can to what I remembered seeing. The more natural I can make the photo the better I like it.In my camera bag
Canon T6s body and a full array of lenses and filters, tripod and external flashes and that is more than enoughFeedback
