This was one of my first photo shoots with my granddaughter at Pioneer Park in Billings Montana on a snowing evening. It was her first time to do any time of camera work too!Time
It was early evening and the sun was just beginning to set. The snow had just started to fall againLighting
I did have to use a couple of light boxes on tripods to provide the extra light as I didn't want to have to use a flash on her face since I was in for a tight shotEquipment
Canon rebel T6s with 24-105 lens hand held no flash natural sunlight plus two light boxesInspiration
I had been approached by quite a few local photographers in the area saying they would be interested in a photo shoot with our granddaughter but since she had never done anything like that I thought it would be nice to try and get her out and do a few shots with just me to see if it would be something she would be interested in doing and I thought that the fresh snow as a background would be a great idea so we went to the park just to play around with some different settings and to get her used to posing a little. Even with my coaxing and a few more shoots with local photographers she decided that any type of modeling wasn't her cup of tea so except for my memories of the fun we had I haven't had the chance to do any more work with her.Editing
Almost no post processing just level adjustIn my camera bag
At the time of this shot I was carrying a Canon with a full set of lenses and filters and tripods and external flashes hoping to get more involved in photography as a hobby now that I am retired.Feedback
Always try and make sure you have the proper lighting and try and make your shot interesting verses the standard poses that you see everyday. Get the best shots you can with the proper camera settings to avoid too much post editing the less you have to edit the better the photo is what I always go for.
