Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at the Twanoh State Park last summer. While looking for places to take landscape photos. This park was built by FDR's Conservation corps. As such it has more of a unique look to it compared to other state parks in the area. It is also a great area to just hang out an swim, do boating an fish.

Time

This would have been early after noon when I took this photo. I to 2 o'clock. I would say.

Lighting

Just the lighting nature provided me that day. Along with what the clouds to to the lighting.

Equipment

I used a Sony A7 camera. With an adapted OM 28 mm 2.8 lens dating back to the 1970s. The shot was hand held.

Inspiration

I love the reflection of the clouds and sky off of water. It could be anything from puddles, to the ocean or lakes. I always look for those photographic opportunities when I am out and about. I am so happy this turned out as well as it has. You can't always tell that from your small camera screen.

Editing

I just used Adobe Photoshop and some color correcting tools to adjust contrast, color and exposure along with the blacks, whites and mid tones. Thankfully the Sony A7 Raw files have great dynamic range. Giving me the ability to push things to extremes in Photoshop.

In my camera bag

I have my Camera, and my portable battery charger, and a couple of lenses and a speed light.

Feedback

The biggest thing advise I could tell people is train your eyes. Your camera is just a tool and you have to train your brain and eyes to see the composition even before you press the shutter button.
