Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in the Huntsville area of Scott County, Tn. This little waterfall is actually called Town Spring.

Time

I remember it was getting up in the day because I had been shooting since early that morning. It was between 2:00 an 3:00 pm when I shot this fall.

Lighting

I remember it wasn't the best light as I was descending the steps that lead down to the fall. It was in a shady area also. I got down to the fall and got set up and waited for the light to come across and as soon as it did, I captured this image.

Equipment

I shot this photo with my Fuji Fine Pix mounted onto my tripod.

Inspiration

I had heard about it for years from family and friends that live in the area where the falls is located. It had been on my list to do forever and so I decided to come through Huntsville on my way back to Knoxville just so I could capture this waterfall.

Editing

I had to crop a little and bring out the shadows some and add a little light since the light really wasn't that great to begin with.

In my camera bag

I usually have which camera I choose to shoot with along with its lenses. The cameras can range from my Canon, Nikon or my Fuji. I always have extra batteries, memory cards, cleaning supplies. Maps, snacks, first aid kit etc..

Feedback

I usually like to shoot waterfalls on rainy overcast days because of the light. I also like to get an early start to beat the harsh light, so the falls isn't just pretty much whited out. Plus, with getting out early there is also the opportunity to maybe catch some fog or wildlife along the way.
