Behind The Lens

A few miles north of Colfax Illinois
Time
Early afternoon
Lighting
Early afternoon it was stormy so depending on the cloud cover the light would vary quite a bit. Catching the green light you can see during tornadic activities was just lucky timing
Equipment
Handheld Shot with Nikon D300 a the 18-200 vr lens
Inspiration
Bad weather can create dramatic lighting, situations, and opportunities.
Editing
I don't do a lot of post processing but I did use lightroom to adjust contrast, shadows and highlights.
In my camera bag
Usually I just go out with my D300, 18=200 zoom a ND sigma 150 macro lens.
Feedback
First You can't get the shot if you leave your camera at home. Be prepared and aware of what's going on around you. Shortly after this shot it started raining so much I couldn't see out of the windshield at all. It never hurts to bracket also you can see I didn't follow the rule of thirds, don't be afraid to occasionally break the rules
