It was midday and the light was harsh to say the best. Getting a decent image was made more difficult due the shooting through thick tinted glass which was not the cleanest. I should also not that building sway when you are on the 100 floor is noticable. So you also have to account for that too. So all in all I felt pretty to get this image.Equipment

When I was in college my older brother took me and my younger brother to the John Hancock building and other hot spots, e.g., Playboy International club (big grin), while showing us the city. It was at night and the city lights were magical and looked a little unreal. I wanted to see it again in the daytime on a clear day I didn't have a camera with me that day, but I always promised myself that one day I would get back to Chicago and I would have a camera. I never thought it would be 25 years later. But here I was I took lots of shots.Editing
Yes, quite a bit in this case: color temperature adjustment, sharpened focus, noise reduction, contrast, and brightness were all adjusted to produce the final image.In my camera bag
My DSLR cameras have evolved over the years starting with the Rebel SXi to a 60D, 70D, 7D and 5D Mark III. Now I shoot with an 80D almost exclusively (it is more versatile that the 7D or 5D MIII; great stills, video, and I love flip screen) . My bag always has two lenses in it, an EF 85mm f/ 1.8 and the 18-135 mm f/ 3.5 - 5.6 kit lens and a dimmable led light for moments when AF needs a little assist. I also have a spare battery, memory cards, business cards, IR remote, cable release, mini notebook and a couple of pens. I got chided buy good hearted party goer when I shot a corporate Christmas party for not have a notebook and pen. She and her husband liked the prints I had taken in photo booth I had set up at the party and wanted to buy more prints of different sizes. for Christmas cards etc.Feedback
Have a plan for your camera setting, light, obstructions, (including people), and lens limitations you will encounter if you get one those rare opportunity shoots. You can't fix everything in post even if you shoot RAW, but you can make you post work easier, if you have a plan of attack. BTW you might have a wife, husband, BF, GF, or child tagging along who just wants to enjoy the moment so have you stuff together so they don't notice you fiddling with you camera!
