This photo was taken on a relatively quiet gravel road a few minutes south of Swift Current, Saskatchewan.Time

It was an afternoon with mixed sun and cloud. I was shooting north so the sun was peeking through the clouds behind me, casting a shadow over the bridge. That is why the bridge is under a shadow but further up the road you can see it is brighter. The sun would have been moving to the west at this time of day in May.Equipment
I shot this photo hand-held with my Nikon D750 camera and a Nikkor AF - S 70 - 200mm f / 2.8G ED VR II lens @ 70mm. The camera was set in Manual Exposure mode f/14.1/200 sec White Balance Sunny ISO 200 White Balance set at "Cloudy" ISO 320 Centre-weighted Average Metering modeInspiration
In an effort to get out and about with my cameras, I decided to give myself a personal challenge for 2020... to shoot at least one photo every week following the themes I randomly selected. The week's theme was "Water". It was also Mother's Day so my husband asked me where I wanted to go for a drive. The theme "Water" was my shooting goal so I told him I wanted to go for a drive to the "Black Bridge" a few kilometres south of our small city. I shot my 'Water" photos for my week's challenge, but I could not leave without shooting a few frames of the beautiful old bridge. It inspires me to shoot it every time I go to visit it.Editing
This photo was shot in JPEG. I used ACDSee Photo Studio Ultimate 2020 to slightly straighten the horizon, to make a very small adjustment to the lighting to brighten the photo, and to convert the photo to Black and White.In my camera bag
I have my Nikon D750, D200 and D5100 cameras in my bags along with my Nikon AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II,a Tamron SP 24-70MM F/2.8 Di VC USD, a Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD Lens, Nikon f/2.8 105mm Micro f/2.8 lens, and a Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary Lens. I also always have my Samsung S8+ SM-6955W cellular phone with me (I like to use it when I want or need a wider angle photo.) If I am going to go for a drive to spend some time out and about shooting, I like to take all my cameras and lenses... you just never know what you're going to need. If I am going out to shoot something specific, I take my Nikon D750 along with the 70-200mm lens, 24-70mm lens, and depending what my shooting goal is, sometimes the 105mm lens.Feedback
My advice for others is to keep all your batteries charged up, have extra memory cards, keep your camera(s) handy (you never know when an opportunity to shoot will arise), and to appreciate everything around you and to always look for photo opportunities. Then shoot, shoot, shoot.... shoot as often as you can and get off the main roads. This photograph was taken along a quiet gravel road giving me the opportunity to get the photos I went there for, as well as this photo of the bridge. Look around and take photos of other things in the area as well (fences, flowers, grasses, a water puddle, graffiti under the bridge - you name it.) Also, take the opportunity to use all or most of your photographic equipment including your cellular phone.... Always take more than one photo... you can always delete them if they do not turn out. When you download your photos, don't immediately discard the photo because the colour isn't what you had wanted it to be or the horizon isn't straight. I believe one of my legs must be shorter than the other because I rarely have a perfectly straight horizon. Using an editing program of your choice, straighten the horizons, and try adjusting the lighting, exposure, etc. Also convert the photo to sepia or black and white... sometimes even just one of these is the only adjustment you need to make to the photo in post-processing. Most important of all... always have fun!!!!
