I was outside with my husband when I saw this very young fawn frolicking alone in our meadow. I went for my camera, hoping to get a few shots of the cute antics. When I got back it was nowhere to be seen. Luckily my husband noticed where it had dropped down into the grass. I quietly walked that direction until I could jsut make out the ears and spots among the grass. This little one was doing exactly as it was supposed to do - laying perfectly still, not even an ear twitch. I used a long zoom because I did not want to alert potential predators or scare the baby into running away. We later saw the mother, an axis deer, coming care for him.
