I shot this image on my back deck. These are the trees that are planted along the property line.Time
This image was taken late morning about 10:30 a.m. EST.Lighting
The lighting was ‘Mother Nature’ at her best. I could not have planned creating this image, it was right there for me to capture the shot.Equipment
I usually use a Cannon T2i. When I was traveling I would sometimes use and Canon pocket camera. It’s lighter to carry when overseas or vacationing.Inspiration
This photo was taken from my back deck several years ago. There was a snow storm overnight. When I got up in the morning and saw the sun shining on the snow covered trees and the beautiful shadows I just had to take the picture. I was mesmerized by ‘Mother Nature’. We sometimes forget to see the beauty around us, and this image reminded me to always appreciate all that is given to us every day. It’s a blessing we should never take for granted.Editing
Since this image was taken several years ago, I couldn’t possibly remember what I did in post-processing. My usual routine in post processing is to check the lighting and color. However, this was a shot already made for me. I might have just adjusted the lighting and/or color just slightly. However, the time of day the sun was shining was perfect, I couldn’t have improved Mother Nature, this was a gift!In my camera bag
A Canon T2i with the box lens, a wide angle lens and a macro lens..Feedback
Always keep your camera nearby. I’m retired so I’m home most times and lucky to have a nature preserve only a few miles away. I keep my camera on the table so that I can quickly take a shot of a little creature or even a deer. I’m really just a ‘shutterbug’. I’ve been shooting on and off casually most of my adult life as my schedule permits. I live several miles from a nature reserve and often there are deer and sometimes a coyote running past us. The animals are so fast I haven’t yet been able to catch a shot of a deer or a coyote. I usually get the squirrels and the wild rabbits.
