This is, or was the boteti river in Botswana.... one of the rivers that usually containins water throughout the year. Drought in Botswana was very serious last year what must be a great disappointment for the thousands of zebra's that wanted to drink after a long journey. Being there to observe them the last week of October last year there was just enough water left at the bottom of the riverbed to provide the first waves of migrating zebra's that particular day. The next day they did not come anymore. In this photo taken at sunset a line of zebra arrives at the boteti river to take a drink making room afterwards for another herd before the sun disappears behind the horizon.
