Holly is an invasive species for us. Originally planted in holly farms to serve the Christmas market across Canada it can now be found in many places ( like English ivy). That does not stop it being beautiful as an understory plant and it is here, crisp and sparkling in the sunlight. One could easily transfer the idea of invasive species to the settlers who brought their plants with them from across the seas. :)
